Stevie Wonder said shortly before his Staples Center performance that he wishes he hadn't out-lived Michael Jackson.
Sitting down at his piano, the 59-year-old said: "This is a moment that I wish that I didn't live to see come.
“But as much as I can say that and mean it, I do know that God is good and I do know that as much as we may feel — and we do — that we need Michael here with us, God must have needed him far more."
Wonder, a close friend and Michael Jackson collaborator, went on to perform 'Never Dreamed You'd Leave In Summer'.
He said of the song: "I never imagined I'd write a song and send it to Quincy Jones. You (Michael Jackson) did this song so incredibly."
